Well, the second game of the Blues’ season was a very, very fun one! It was a very rare holiday game played at 1:00 in the afternoon. I played hooky and got to see Blues history being made from a nice vantage point. My buddy, Chris got us discounted tickets down in the club seats. Free food!
So many different ways to go to recap this game. Do we go with something that commemorates the fact that the Blues set records for two quickest goals, six seconds apart, by Backes and McDonald, and biggest shot differential, +38, in franchise history. Or, do we play up the fact that the Anaheim Ducks looked more like the Long Island Ducks from “Slap Shot”, trying to goon it up with the likes of that bruiser Brad Boyes, the oh so intimidating David Perron, and the far too quiet, too often Eric Brewer.
Well, here are a couple of thumbnails that play up the first story line, even though one has a nod to super-goon George Parros and his actions during the game. I’m not the biggest designated fighter fan, but man, I wouldn’t mind a guy like Parros on my team. He’s pretty great.
